Maybe the sudden and, I think, quite unexpected “extra points” in June this year were a kind of prelude to this… Or maybe they were just afraid that loads of HON/SEN would be downgraded on 01 Jan…?

The problem with points transfer could be that, once again, it adds complexity… So and so many points carried over for each status level, valid for so and so many months etc…

A simpler idea might be to just reduce the number of status points needed by current status holders for requalification. This, again, is the BA model for GGL- 5K to qualify, 3K to requalify. I think it came in as a kind of Covid booster measure, but it seems to have become permanent.
