I was declined for a Citi AAdvantage Select Card a couple of months ago. After speaking to the reconsideration department a couple of times, I got an agent who explained to me that I was declined due to the lack of credit utilization. It is what it is. I had hoped to pick up the Executive card to replace my annual AAdmirals Club membership, but it's likely not in the cards.
