Codeshare news W24 - IndiGo, LATAM, Malaysia, Finnair
This has been covered in other blogs, but not I think here yet. BA has entered into 2 new codeshare agreements with IndiGo and LATAM, covering respectively India and Brazil. I see they have now been plugged into BA.com and that includes the lower cost buckets. There is also an expanded codeshare arrangement with Malaysia (MAS) but the delay in starting up the KL route has messed up the previously agreed November launch. Ditto some more expansions with Finnair and Qatar.
For IndiGo it works off BA's operated services to Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengalore and Chennai and then 18 locations in India. Most of these are not new, so the ever changing rotation of airlines means that BA has long has had codeshare options to Goa and Calcutta, to give 2 examples. The 3 new locations are Vadodara (BDQ) formerly Baroda, Rajkot (RAJ) and Thiruvananthapuram (TRV), previously Trivandrum.
For LATAM it's 14 destinations in Brazil now available when flying BA to GIG or GRU. Again most of them have featured in previous codeshares and BA's relationship with LATAM, unlike IndiGo, goes back a very long way.
