However, that's at Sainsbury; which happens to be one private company operating a loyalty/membership program in the UK; it's not as if one can redeem Avios for actual British Pounds Sterling at a fixed rate in a financial bank. Furthermore, if the arbitration happens within the jurisdiction of the US (as assumed), then there is no legally defined cash value when it comes to Avios.
Don’t understand how compensation culture USA would work like that it’s not how it works in the U.K.
Judges have and regularly do accept the value of Avios being the exact price BA sells them for outside of a sale period so 1.6p per Avios.
