After being initially optimistic, I now think the new status system overall is a downgrade. It is simpler and more transparent, but it sets an enormously high bar for (re)qualification.

It has been briefly rumored here that many status holders will not requalify. Are lots of people qualifying as new status holders to take the place of the old ones? Seems unlikely but who knows…

Maybe there will be tweaks- but on the other hand, the system is new so I guess they won’t want to change it again so soon.
