I've tried to clarify things with their customer support regarding that. When I've called them, they told me that I can call in with information so they can do it manually. I have flights with some of those uncertain airlines around Dec 16th, so was planning to call in on 19th with all information. Also "hedge" myself by sending all information required for retro-claim via their gold-support.
Oh and regarding MU and KE, if the retro-claim info isnt clarified by then, perhaps you could try book an award ticket with both of them? XXX-PVG-ICN with MU/KE to get them both some way. I haven't been able to see any China Eastern flights yet, but supposedly we should be able to book them now.

Now, in theory could they just allow all retro claims to count under this promo? Sure, but then they'd have to leave it open ended for like 3-6 months to allow for any claims to come in, so they set the deadline as Dec 20. In THEORY (again) you could still fly Dec 22 and claim them, but if they got credited on Jan 2 you'd be SOL. So rather than have those fights on their hands, they've just said do it by Dec 20.
Do you remember if it was via Twitter, or Scandinavian forums or elsewhere? Or perhaps just one customer service rep mentioned it via phone/email? Hoping that your info is true, would make me less worried about the retro-claim.
