Now, in theory could they just allow all retro claims to count under this promo? Sure, but then they'd have to leave it open ended for like 3-6 months to allow for any claims to come in, so they set the deadline as Dec 20. In THEORY (again) you could still fly Dec 22 and claim them, but if they got credited on Jan 2 you'd be SOL. So rather than have those fights on their hands, they've just said do it by Dec 20.
I understand when the EB numbers cannot be on the ticket so they have no way to credit them - then retroclaim should happen. What I was worried was the cases even when the EB numbers were written correctly on the ticket but the points did not come at all. In that case customers have no fault
. I have experienced that so many times with SAS. So hassle free deadline would be Dec 12 for the promotion with the actual deadline Dec 31? Could they simply set the retroclaim deadline to be Jan 8?
