No. Those “Preferred Name to be called” despite being labeled as First Name, is not part of the name of the account holder. On top of that, it is Optional! So obviously this box is NOT used for making any booking. I tried to use the function of finding my AS number, the system told me no such account when I used First Name Last Name, nor First Name Middlename Last Name because now the Name of the Account no longer has a First name!

The upcoming trips made before account messed up remain intact, thankfully.

But you will have issues booking new trips because your name in the account now is missing First Name. Unless you create a companion using your actual credential incl the KTN that needs to match your legal name then book trip with THIS companion profile, you would not be able to book a trip with the missing First Name in the account profile.

You can either contact the X CS team or to call MP CS to get this error fixed, one way or the other. It depends on what mechanism they used to fix it, you could get different outcome. I already detailed my experience upthread. Another poster who first reported this error back in late Sept on this thread got another outcome. I believe he updated the thread about his experience. Both mechanisms fixed the error which need to be fixed for any your future bookings.
