I didn't know that, thanks for the info. However, that's at Sainsbury; which happens to be one private company operating a loyalty/membership program in the UK; it's not as if one can redeem Avios for actual British Pounds Sterling at a fixed rate in a financial bank. Furthermore, if the arbitration happens within the jurisdiction of the US (as assumed), then there is no legally defined cash value when it comes to Avios.
