Good time to visit on first leg of IAH-ORD-CDG. Wanted to check out the new menu items.
The bao was delicious and well presented. They were “out” (huh?) of the cacio e pepe risotto (but if there’s a silver lining, the exact same item is on the OrRD menu where it am sitting as I type this, so I will try it there) so I got the salmon. Boring but well presented and accompanied. I find the IAH Dining Room to consistently turn out high quality fare in terms of preparation and presentation. Alas, the buffet remains a sad shell of its former self. Basically a salad bar with a few wraps, and a rotating hot menu of chicken dish of the month, rice, and a protein-less soup. Really miss the feijoada and andouille sausage gumbo that were standouts not so long ago.
