Connecting Pax still contribute to emissions in the UK, while contributing very little to the economy. It is in many ways very funny that you take another flight (which has emissions) and then start your journey with a flight back to the UK (emissions) in a connecting itinerary to avoid what are amongst the world's highest aviation taxes. Of course, no-one would do such a thing...
