No issues with the increase for private jets, but the increases for commercial flights do sting a bit. If they want to increase APD revenue though I would have thought they should charge it for connecting passengers, rather than increasing the rates. Connecting Pax still contribute to emissions in the UK, while contributing very little to the economy. So imo would have made more sense to raise the revenue that way rather than raising the already high rates for pax departing the UK, but what do I know.
It is in many ways very funny that you take another flight (which has emissions) and then start your journey with a flight back to the UK (emissions) in a connecting itinerary to avoid what are amongst the world's highest aviation taxes. Of course, no-one would do such a thing...
