This isn't part of the Autumn changes, as far as I know - the post midnight Middle East services from DXB, DOH, RUH have little in the way of catering on departure, the focus is on breakfast. You're absolutely correct insofar (and I'd add Bahrain to your list) as flights leaving c 1 or 2 am local in the Gulf have never had a full dinner. I am talking about 50 years plus of memory here when BAH in particular, but also MCT, AUH and DXB were the last stop back to London from Australia and the Far East timed to arrive into LHR in the morning. Lord knows how many times I flew on these flights and the SOP was always to eat properly at home or in your hotel pre-departure, get to the airport as close to departure as you dared, and then crash out until breakfast served on board about an hour out of London (or just skip the whole thing and eat in Arrivals). I did BAH back to LHR earlier in the year in CW and the snack was a wrap or something similar but I just slept through - once you're up and netting off the pre-landing preparation - there's only really about 6 hours max of sleep time at best. AUH as noted is now a late morning departure back to LHR.
