Just to add some data in, I stayed 7 nights on points and the resort proactively offered me the last 4 nights in a GOWV so I could "try it out" to be fair I had a lot booked and already spent at the boutique etc so maybe they wanted to impress me!
Perfectly plausible. Alternatively they needed your Reef Villa for arriving guests.
But my point is that this is not a resort that offers space available upgrades to Diamonds. If you're upgraded, more often than not it's because it suits the resort rather than anything else.
