What's the route? Is it an IB outstation you are departing from, or a Spanish airport? There are major weather disruptions in Spain today, so it could also be that it was a pre-emptive offload to accommodate other travellers?

AS claims they received a “telatex” from IB yesterday unconfirming award but before they it was confirmed
IB csr today USA number told me “airport” canceled entire tkt this morning so she thought it was involuntary denied boarding.
my friend is on same exact flight her tkt is fine
