My take on the Qantas vs Finnair business class seat is passengers either love or hate the Finnair seat, without a lot of middle ground – and in my own circle, more people like the Finnair seat than not – and where things tend to split is as a seat vs as a bed.
Ironically, most people's initial concern is how this non-reclining seat will be as a bed – and in my experience that is its most comfortable mode (especially if you can get a seat in the first row for aded footwear space), at least for those of 'average height' or below (and as a 5'10" bloke, I am bog average height).
Conversely, more people seem to feel the seat's main shortcoming is as a
seat – because this AirLounge design is deliberately like a 'sofa in the sky' and so it's 100% the job of passenger to make themselves comfortable in how they sit or slouch.
The seat shell is very wide and curved, and quite tall, so there are plenty of options for how you nestle into the seat, but on a Finnair flight the airline has a few pillows specifically chosen to help you get comfy, whereas Qantas uses its own more standard-issue pillows which IMHO are less effective. And there being no recline at all means you can't hit that button and get into a 'Lazy Z'-type position.

I'd 100% go for the Qantas-Finnair non-stop. Even if you find the seat isn't as comfy as you'd like for the daytime leg, my 2c is that it's comfy enough to win over a significantly longer journey given the stopover and associated hassles/disruptions (especially at Singapore where the boarding gates double as pre-departure holding pens with their own security lanes).
