I felt French Polynesia wasn’t as friendly as Hawaii…..abit more stand offish…..I feel Hawaii is friendly, but definitely has some fakeness to it….Western Samoa has true original culture of being village ran, but bribery is rampant as it’s just getting a taste for capitalism…..Fiji has the nicest folks in the entire world, but slowly becoming Hawaii-Disneyfied and overtaken by development…

Hawaii is a good to way experience a hodge podge of Asian culture without going to individual countries….ie Japan/Korea/micronesia….almost everyone is not experiencing Hawaiian culture when they come here….its all about community, which most tourists don’t have time for…

My recommendation for anyone coming from the US mainland is to just go to Fiji…
