I am making a reservation through the Citi travel portal for a hotel in 2025. Paying with Citi card to get points, not redeeming points. It will be over $500. Even though it's cancellable I'll be charged in 2024. Will I receive the $100 hotel credit this year?

Edited to say I've answered my own question, in a way.

When I searched the price and compared it to my AAA rate through Marriott, even with the $100 credit the Marriott price was significantly lower. No go Citi travel.
