Checked the Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site (http://www.sanantoniocvb.com) and checked the calendar for next week, and the subject event is the only one that looks like it could be a reason.

The stock show and rodeo runs from 2/4-2/20. Their Web site says that they get 1 million people a year there. Don't know how many of those are local and how many are out of towners, and don't know how many of them use the Riverwalk hotels.

Anyway, maybe somebody else will chime in with another reason for all the hotel bookings...
