I don't have any great insights to offers, just general thoughts:
- An increase in requirements was expected (or was by me at least) so no real surprise there
- The pluspoints options sound interesting, for those who will earn pluspoints in 2026 that expire without ability to use them. That seems a potential value-add (depending on the options / conversion rates)
- Credit card spend increase seems logical and in line with others, though at worse rates still
I already planned to dial back from 1K next year due to some spending priority changes, was hopeful to still make Gold though I'm not sure how much I really need to. This doesn't mean I won't be flying UA, it just means I plan to fly less overall next year (that was already my plan due my planned spending priority changes mentioned before, and nothing to do with this announcement).
Net net: not great, not horrible, not surprising.
