United just announced updates to the qualification thresholds for Premier status in 2025, along with 'big upgrade' to PlusPoints.


The new qualification thresholds for 2026 Premier status

PlusPoints will now be able to be used towards
  • Premier qualifying points (PQP) or Premier qualifying flights (PQF)
  • TravelBank cash
  • Bonus miles
  • Gifting Premier status to other MileagePlus members
No word yet on exact terms, 'big upgrade' is scheduled for mid-2025.

What do we think of this announcement? Expecting a devaluation to PlusPoints (increased cost to redeem upgrades) or are we confident the big upgrade will only make them better.
