I had this recently on a claim for damaged baggage, the caller was very persistent and called multiple times while I wasn't available but didn't leave a voicemail at any point - which heightened my suspicions if I'm honest. On Googling the number I found it was likely to be BA so answered on their next call, and the representative was very helpful.
