One question: When you had your claim/bonded baggage tickets to the check-in agent when checking in at TPE, do you wait while someone fetches or brings your bonded bags to the check-in desk? If so, do you see, but not touch, your bonded bags getting weighed and checked in, both to verify they are getting on your flight and also to pay any applicable baggage fees to airline at check-in?

TLDR; for context: I just called Eastar Air, who is potentially carrying us from TPE to ICN. When we mentioned two of our bags (one per person) will be in bonded luggage at TPE, they said they have never heard of bonded luggage and it wouldn't work. Then we called Korean Air, who also flies the route, and they also had never heard of bonded luggage. But they did Google it while we were on the phone, found it, and said "yes, looks like that's a thing, but we don't know how/if it works" These were both CS agents in Korea, so they admitted they aren't familiar with TPE, and they aren't able to connect with a gate or check-in agent there to verify. So, I am asking you ;
