United 1K flying on EVA Air: questions
I posted these questions on the EVA Air forum but got no response so far. So, I am posting them here and hopefully someone can reply?

First time flying EVA next month as United 1K, KIX-TPE on BR177 (booking class V) then TSA-HND on BR192 (booking class W), and I have a few questions:
  1. What are the rules and correct ways to select seats? Do United 1K members (Star Alliance Gold) get to choose seats in advance at no charge (the website wants $35 per seat for advance selection)? The United 1K numbers for my wife and me have successfully been entered into the EVA Air PNR and the flights were booked on the AMEX Travel Portal
  2. We will get Star Alliance Gold baggage allowance of 2 checked pieces per person, correct? Appears to be confirmed on EVA website but wanted to be sure
  3. With our fares in V and W, are any upgrade possible? With United PlusPoints (which I have a lot to burn) or United Miles? Or forget about it?
