Sir Brandon Lewis (as he wasn't at the time) once got bounced off a BHD service because no one could find the HAL supervisor to clear his Protection team. He simply failed Conformance and they had to sit it out in the CCR until the next flight.
Interesting titbit! Would have thought the protection team (Met) would have been able to speak one of their Heathrow colleagues and liase with BA if necessary?
Does HAL supervisor add much value or just sign off a piece of paper?
