Even if it's not screwed in, you aren't going to be able to operate a release latch to extract the battery. Even if you could, by the time you notice the thermal runaway, the battery has likely expanded and will not come out of its slot. By then, it might as well be screwed in.
The real threat are the people who ignore the safety rules because they don't see why putting the battery back in would cause a problem or why they shouldn't move the seat to find their phone. If you follow the rules, we have the equipment, training, and procedures to mitigate the threat.
