BA refusing to credit TP to ANY year - only Lifetime
I have encountered an unexpected response from BA and would welcome the forum's help. My TP year expired on 8 September; I took a few flights on 2-7 September (Finnair and BA) and these flights posted after 8 September. Only avios posted, but not the TPs (marked as 0 in my account); however most of those missing TPs have been accounted for in the "TP adjustment" which was subequently made due to the change in the TP year calendar we're all aware of. The problem is I am missing 160 TPs from that adjustment. When I queried this with BA, I received the email stating that "In regard to your Finnair flights, as these were added to your account after your Tier Point Collection year reset, the Tier Points for these flights have been added to your Lifetime Tier Points amount." So effectively, 160 TPs are not credited to either the previous year (which would still count for the next year as a post-April 24 TP adjustment) nor the ongoing pre-April 25 period; they have vanished and are only allegedly credited to the lifetime TPs.
Is this the new norm? I always thought that the TPs are credited to the period when flights are flown (and my BA EC number was on the Finnair flights when booked). Is there something in writing I can use in my response to BA? Thank you!
