Presuming that the transfer was initiated by Bonvoy then you should be in an ok situation to recover. If they were "self-initiated" I guess that something else could have happened, so you're best following the formal route with death certificate via the Marriott T&Cs (and the helpful lurker): (as referenced in the FAQ)
