Your driver's license (with an int'l DL translation) is valid for driving, not for identification. Your passport card is only valid in USA/MEX/CAN.
Some airlines like LH don't check your Passport, but TP will. If you take the train - no need for ID (unless you buy a discounted ticket). If you're going for the day - dare I ask why you're flying?
