Well based on a r/t SFO-Japan, my verdict is that the "Room" is one of the worst seats in the air. Who cares if it has a door or if it is wide when the surface is as hard as concrete and the recline for sitting positions is highly limited. The tray table height is awkward (I had to sit on a pillow)...did anyone test this before they ordered these seats? Storage space...ridiculously small. Sleeping position required sleeping at an angle. I can think of only two favorable comments: each seat had an adjustable air vent and the screen was generously sized. That's it. In every other respect, the "Room" is unacceptable. Awful. Never again. Then to add to the misery of the flight, the 10 pm departure of Haneda did not offer a real meal. What kind of nonsense is that? If the reply is eat in the lounge, the food there was repulsive and the wines even worse (not even champagne, instead a vile "sparkling wine" resembling the stuff sold in boxes at low end convenience stores). For the life of me, I can't fathom how ANA gets rated as a premium airline. Next trip to Japan will be on JAL.
