The number you called,
800-247-9297 is the number for general BA customer service in the U.S.
However, BA has a separate U.S. number for Executive Club inquiries:
800-452-1201. I wonder whether that number would be the better one to call in your situation.
Also, when you reviewed your AA AAdvantage frequent-flyer account transactions, did you just find award redemptions and restoration of miles for cancelled awards, or did you also find transfers ("gifts") of miles to other accounts?
