You will not get free upgrades to first class on AA based on your Alaska MVP/MVPG status. As an MVP/MVPG you will get free upgrade coupons for domestic NW flights that sometimes work.
Sorry, I did a search for this on the forums and the AS website. Does a CO flight number but operated by NW earn elite qualifying miles? It's all about the metal is it not? Trying to plan some contingency flights in case UA goes kerplunk.
