Maybe it is just people on FlyerTalk, but I expect the majority of Lufthansa customers want to get from Munich to say Shanghai. If it has Allegris, then great. If not, then it still gets them to Shanghai.

For those that just want to fly Allegris, regardless of the destination, then I think Lufthansa has caveated that there maybe some subs, even on the routes that are supposed to have Allegris.

So I’m not sure I would say it is bait and switch.

However I would say that once Lufthansa starts charging for the different tiers of Allegris seats, I wonder if some people will yearn for the days when there was no Allegris and they could pick a seat without being nickel and dimed.
