That is my experience, too. On a schedule change that required an overnight in SEA a day earlier and arriving at my final destination a day earlier, AS paid for both nights, including restaurant charges in SEA.
On another occasion in SEA, I told AS Customer Service what hotel I wanted and they made it happen.

Wow every time I’ve asked for this on schedule changes that required SEA overnight AS has flatly refused. The only options they gave me the 6-7 flights that got impacted was cancel and refund since it was rescheduled more than a few days ahead of time. Wouldn’t even let me push out more than 1-2 days.
