I have no idea what OP's inbox looks like but I like the emails and text messages I get from United. It rarely (if ever?) feels like too much. I get the text messages about the flight boarding and gate changes, emails about changes to the flight itinerary and of course any changes to the ticket itself (processing, ticketed, upgrades), etc. I didn't get email or text messages to preorder my meal in Economy but it did show up on the app so I was able to preorder the cheeseburger (or I would have been out of luck because they were sold out of them by the time the cart got to me in row 24 of a 777 today).
