Completely agree -- but my issue is that there is no consistency -- for a while I started to rely on the "boarding" text that always came when they started boarding the flight -- that would be my signal to leave the lounge / club / bar for the gate -- but sometimes that text doesn't come and I've been really late boarding -- almost missing flights some times. If you are going to commit to communicating things like this to your customers it better be 100% reliable -- and if not it will be ignored -- as I now do now. All the preflight crap days before the flight has got to stop -- I'm getting texts / emails 5 days before my flight now to pre-order my meal for my flights in Economy -- ugh....
