It tends to be moot for 016 tickets of exclusively UA segments, but the "booking confirmation" is sent immediately when you make the reservation and the ticket email isn't sent until ticketing is complete, which can be hours later in some (increasingly rare) cases with partner metal, especially awards. For simple domestic ticket, sending both is overkill.
