I don't need the "reminder", the "have you booked a hotel" are pure spam and I'm iffy on the value of the "entertainment options" but it appears to be all-or-nothing (and possibly from OP just all)...
I mean for the fly-once-a-year.group I'm sure it's helpful and exciting but for me it's useless noise and makes it more likely I'll delete/overlook something that is important. Today I booked a trip for Monday and 3 messages appeared essentially simultaneously after I clicked "Purchase" (but as Outlook displayed them, oldest to newest):
"Quick reminders about your upcoming trip to XXX"
"eTicket Itinerary and Receipt for Confirmation XXXXXX"
"Your United Airlines booking confirmation – XXXXXX"
I really to fail to see what purpose the 'booking confirmation' serves generally but even more so when it is sent after the receipt...and "reminding" me about a reservation I booked 10 seconds ago (still have the browser tab open!) before you've "confirmed" it is just plain stupid in a way that is as minor as it is irritating.
But I'd gladly suffer these in silence if I could get rid of the "exciting offer" for "service to Hawaii when available" onboard PAs
