I know reselling in Tokyo is another option since its a rare whiskey but I'm reading in other threads that they may try to lowball you depending on where you sell it to.
They won't ship it for you. If you're not keen on lugging it around in your check in, I guess you could ship it to yourself once in Japan but it will cost you a pretty penny.
