we have a forced 20 hr layover and were going there just to go somewhere and get out and see alittle of the city, but it seems that you are saying something happened and best NOT to go there, is that correct. In which case we will simply hang at the hotel. We head to the 1st airport at 3am for our 7am flight so no sleeping Sun night , so we are looking forward to sleeping at The Skylight, just wont need 20 hrs of sleep.

Well Google turned this up https://addisinsight.net/2024/10/rag...hting-efforts/, so the main building is out but will have to ask when we get there is all the street merchats are also out of commission for now, now planning on simply staying put at the hotel,THX for the heads up
sorry somehow missed the word "Fire" at the market . I am not saying don't go there because I do not know what damage the fire has done and the extent of it just that there was a very big fire
Even if the market is out of action there are other places you can visit indeed many people might recommend Shola market rather than Mekato
