Changing avios booking for members of F & F list

I made an avios booking for my daughter and family using my avios, my GUFs, my Joker and paid with my credit card. They were due to travel next week but, due to an admin cock-up, will not be able to do so.

Strong preference is to move the booking forward by a few months. Alternatively, cancel and get my avios and GUF back.

I feel like if my daughter phones (she could ring Gold line) in event of cancellation it might all go horribly wrong and the avios and GUFs could disappear into a black hole. It wouldn’t really matter if they ended up in her account rather than mine as long as one of us has them.

If she phones to re-book for Feb half term then will probably still need Joker and feel like both her and who she speaks to are likely to be in uncharted territory.

My main question is …..

Given that I did all the “paying” should I be able to make changes to the booking?

If I can’t just do this then I’ve read about being a 3rd party nominee which we can probably get organised if necessary (bit hesitant as more opportunities for admin cock-ups). If we go down that route would I need to be the nominee for all of the people on the booking or just my daughter as the lead passenger?
