VERDICT: Me and my better half really liked it but I cannot say it is LHT forum-worthy. But is it worthy for Singapore? Absolutely.

Just finished a week at the Capitol Kempinski. Mixed feelings at first from a rocky start but ended up really enjoying the room and hotel. Can write more if anyone is interested.

Edit, seems silly to not elaborate: original concerns with windows up against the interior of the mall are mitigated in the heritage category room but carls888 and chinmoylad are correct, the room layouts and inconsistency in the same room category is a big problem. We were originally put into a heritage room that was more suitable for one guest (however an awkward and undesirable layout even for one) rather than two, however we suspected that this was due to their key management software assigning the inferior room to the solo booking.Our booking on the kempinski website was mistakenly sent with 1x adult rather than 2x, but I emailed immediately to amend. Some staff are definitely less experienced at this hotel, as the reservation agent replying to the email that while a second guest may be added, they were ineligible for the room rate we booked, not entitled to breakfast...We arrived late (20:30) and were given a room where the layout did not match the photos on the website (layout issue prev. mentioned). I had to tell the staff it was not acceptable, and (surprisingly) not 30 minutes later, a far superior heritage category room (one that matched the photos) was ready for us to swap to.

Had I accepted the first room I would've hated it the entire stay and cursed myself for not swapping. I wish they would've assigned the second room to us from the very beginning.
