Did a dummy booking at the AF-operated IAD<=>CDG flights do show as "Premium Economy" with fares of A & G vs. DL and KL-operated TATL flights that show "Premium Select". The seat selections oddly include BC (at a huge UG premium), and was able to (of course) select PE seats on the TATL and non-preferred Y on intra-Europe w/o extra charge. This was on DL.com so hopefully the OP didn't book through an OTA especially a less-than-reputable one.
