Don't overthink it, 55 mins is fine for DFW especially so in the morning, thousands of people make similar connections every day without issue.

Additionally when is this trip? If it is out past ~February then you're still likely to have some schedule changes between now and then, so even if you book the 55 min connection now that's probably not what you'll end up with (for better or worse).
