I was at YHZ this past January when a Kuwait Airlines jet flying KWI->JFK or some such arrived. It was greeted by a couple of ambulances.
They diverted well off the Newfoundland Island Coast crossing The Rock. I would think that a medical emergency requiring a diverson would have gone to YYT.
I also noticed that it took off a few hours late from CDG. I had a friend on a NCE-YUL a few years ago TS flight that stopped in YHZ to switch out some of the crew because of a crew hours.
