Apparently United has gotten rid of their customer friendly policy to allow refunds after 2 hours of disruption effective for tickets issued on/after today October 24th. They have changed to be in line with the new DOT rules only requiring refunds after 3 hours (domestic), 6 hours (international). Interestingly they have opted not to do 5 year credits and either you rebook the ticket or it gets automatically refunded if it meets the DOT refund requirements.
Fortunately still seem to offer the change flexibility after 30 minutes, but a definite downgrade to the refund policy and appears entirely due to the updated DOT guidelines.
