For an upcoming CAI-IST flight, I selected a preferred Y seat for free previously, while I was TK elite. That seat is still showing on the TK app or website for me, but their call centre told me that I don't have that seat assigned because I haven't paid for it. They said I have no seat assigned (even though the original preferred Y seat is still showing assigned to me on their app/website).

Is this because I no longer have TK elite status (I am Star Alliance Gold through UA)?

What will happen when it's time for OLCI? Will I lose the preferred seat and will get a randomly assigned seat at that time? (It's a short flight, so I don't care that much about a preferred seat, but I would prefer an aisle seat.)
