Hello. My son, 17, is joining us in Macao. Because Macao won't let someone less than 18 to fly-in solo he has to first fly into HKIA on Cathay, and then take ferry to Macao. He doesn't really speak any Chinese so I am thinking about picking him up at HKIA and then take the Ferry to Macau together. I remember HKIA does have Ferry to Macao, but it is for transit only and once you enter through customs and arrival hall, you can't get on it. Is that still true today? Can I pick up my son at the airport and take the airport ferry to Macao instead of having to travel to Central?
You may wish for him to take the HK Airport > Macau bus (

If you want to travel together by ferry, he has to go through immigration and you both go to Sheung Wan (or you can also arrive by plane into HKG). Otherwise after he goes through HK immigration you can both make your way to the HZMB HK port and take the shuttle bus, which is cheaper but involves hassle.
