Yes it gives you oneworld Emerald benefits which I feel is the industry’s best top-tier alliance based status when compared to *G or SkyTeam Elite Plus. You get free seat selection (including extra legroom roll seats potentially) on all oneworld airlines, some truly exceptional lounges - notwithstanding all of QR’s lounges in DOH, even the status based Platinum lounge itself is fantastic and we’re not even scratching the surface with CX’s HKG lounges, QF’s global selection of lounges, AY Platinum Wing etc. Also QRPC’s redemption rates are very reasonable these days.
Compare that to EK status or most other programmes, I would personally be quite chuffed with QR Platinum or its equivalent but each to their own. I’m not sure what else you’re expecting or wishing for?
