It depends on the kind of welcome that you get: if your flight gets a jet bridge, then 40 mins is enough time. If your journey is enhanced by a bus ride upon landing, that may take a while (I think the worst I had was 20-25 mins), and the total transfer time may get close to that 40 min mark. It also depends on when the flight lands, of course.
sometimes the bus is a blessing as some buses drop you off at the area where you dont need security re-screening..
