I showed this photo to a friend of mine who is a retired Head Chef and he's worked in quite a few Scottish middle to upper level well known hotels.

According to him the portion size is right for à la carte but the plate is too big he said. I agree with others that just order another one if required. It does look very rich and tasty and personally I'd ask for lots of double cream on it too!
